Non-woven geotextile mesh is made from continuous polyester filaments through needle punching and thermal bonding. It maintains dimensional stability, resists construction stress, and exhibits good acid and alkali resistance, high tensile strength, puncture resistance, drainage capabilities, and anti-aging properties. Geotextiles are safe, environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and durable materials that solve various construction challenges. They provide excellent water permeability, chemical stability, anti-aging, and anti-corrosion properties. Non-woven geotextile mesh performs isolation, drainage, and protection functions, adapts to various base layers, and has a long service life. Polyester filament geotextiles find extensive applications in infrastructure construction and are increasingly used in diverse fields.
Case Study
- Destination – Indonesia
- Product – Filament Geotextile
- Application -Highway pavement Project
Issue
The long time overload of highway asphalt concrete pavement, due to the increasingly serious overload and imperfect design or construction, the strength of the structure itself is insufficient, resulting in cracks. Due to the continuous infiltration of water into the cracks, the base layer and even the subgrade soften, resulting in the pavement bearing load. The force decreases, resulting in network cracks, cracks, pulping, vertical and horizontal cracks and other diseases, which accelerates the damage of the pavement and seriously shortens the service life of the pavement.
The Indonesian customer sent an email to the BPM team. Through communication, we learned that the customer is currently undertaking a road maintenance project. The total length of this section of the road is 13.58 kilometers. Due to its location in a soft soil section, coupled with the heavy traffic volume and serious overloading, the road construction also has construction quality problems. Now the road has problems with mud, cracks and potholes, and the road needs to be repaired. So the customer wanted to purchase non woven geotextile mesh for his road construction project.
Solution
BPM team recommended non-woven polyester filament geotextile mesh for road maintenance. We provided geotextile indicators, tensile test reports, and production videos. Technical indicators such as tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, and CBR were analyzed. We arranged video conferences, factory inspections, and real-time testing of geotechnical indicators. Packaging quantities of geotextiles were compared, highlighting the advantages of hot rolling for export. Samples were mailed for testing, resulting in customer satisfaction. In May, our client purchased 350g filament geotextiles, reaching a purchase agreement with our company.
Specifications of Non Woven Geotextile Mesh Used for Indonesia Road Pavement Project
- Product Name – Polyester Filament Geotextile
- Gram weight- 350g/sqm
- Total Quantity- 300,000square meters
- Size – 5.95m *50m
Benefits
Non-woven geotextile mesh used in highway engineering mainly have the following characteristics:
- High temperature resistance. When the asphalt mixture is paved, the temperature is as high as 150 degrees Celsius, so it is required that the interlayer material cannot shrink or melt and curl and deform at this temperature. The geotextile is made of polyester with a melting point of up to 230 degrees Celsius, and its performance is stable during paving without any change.
- Both warp and weft have high tensile strength.
- Good adsorption. The surface is uniform and the permeability is good, which can evenly wash the asphalt and reach saturation, so that the bond with the road surface is dense.A
- Has good chemical stability and anti-biological properties.
Polyester Filament Geotextile Application
- Reverse filtration of dams and slope protection in water conservancy projects, isolation and seepage prevention of channels;
- Foundation isolation, anti-filtration, drainage, soil slope, retaining wall and road surface reinforcement and drainage of roads, railways and airport runways;
- Soft foundation treatment of port engineering, reinforcement and drainage of beach embankments, harbour piers and breakwaters.
Summary
Filament geotextile mesh has the functions of isolation, filtration, drainage, reinforcement, protection and maintenance. PET filament geotextiles are extruded from fibers that are then laid on a manufacturing “bed” and then needle punched from the top and bottom to wrap the fibers to produce a dimensionally stable geotextile. Polyester filament geotextiles are widely used in road construction, landfills, cancellations, salt ponds, etc.
